Rippin kitten – Suzuki has officially unveiled its newest entry-level adventure motorcycle, the V-Strom 160. Set to challenge competitors in the growing adventure bike segment. Positioned as the smaller sibling to the previously launched Suzuki V-Strom SX 250. The V-Strom 160 promises to offer both performance and style for riders seeking a versatile, agile bike.
The Suzuki V-Strom 160 makes a strong first impression with its sporty and aggressive design. All while maintaining a sleek and compact body. The front features a stacked headlamp design, complemented by a windscreen and the signature “beak”. That is characteristic of Suzuki’s adventure motorcycles. This unique look not only enhances the bike’s aesthetics but also improves aerodynamics, making it a standout in its category.
Under the hood, the V-Strom 160 is powered by a 160cc, SOHC, single-cylinder engine equipped with fuel injection. This setup delivers 14.75 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine is designed for smooth and responsive performance. Making it an ideal choice for both city commuting and light off-road adventures.
The bike boasts a length of 2,025 mm and a wheelbase of 1,345 mm, offering stability while riding. With a ground clearance of 160 mm and a seat height of 795 mm, the V-Strom 160 is built for comfort across different terrains. Despite its lightweight design, it tips the scales at 148 kg, providing a solid feel on the road. The fuel tank has a capacity of 13 liters, ensuring longer rides without frequent refueling.

For enhanced performance, the V-Strom 160 is equipped with 17-inch wheels and tubeless tires, sized 100/80-17 in the front and 130/70-17 in the rear. It also features disc brakes on both wheels, supported by an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for improved safety, especially on challenging surfaces.
As for its introduction in Indonesia, there is a high possibility that Suzuki will bring the V-Strom 160 to the market. Given the success of the V-Strom SX 250 in the region, the V-Strom 160 could serve as an excellent addition to Suzuki’s adventure bike lineup in Indonesia. If it does make its way to the Indonesian market, it will likely become a formidable competitor to the Honda CB150X, which currently dominates this segment.
The Suzuki V-Strom 160 is designed to appeal to adventure seekers looking for a compact yet capable bike. Whether it’s for exploring urban streets or venturing off-road. The V-Strom 160 has the potential to become a popular choice for riders who crave versatility without compromising on performance or style.
