Rippin kitten – The Suzuki SV650 has been a popular model since its debut in 1999. Quickly gaining a reputation as a more affordable alternative to the Ducati Monster for budget-conscious riders. With its sturdy tubular frame, V-twin engine, and solid mid-range components. The SV650 earned its place as a versatile and accessible motorcycle for all sorts of riders. From daily commuters to weekend racers, the SV650 was widely praised for its flexibility and practicality.
Fast forward to 2009, when Suzuki replaced the SV650 with the SFV650 Gladius. Unfortunately, the Gladius didn’t have the same lasting appeal and was discontinued after just nine years. However, the SV650 made a triumphant return in 2016. Maintaining its solid reputation and securing its position as a beloved choice for riders around the world. Yet, some were still eager to put their own spin on this iconic bike enter Stoker Motorcycles. A Finnish custom shop that decided to take the 2000 Suzuki SV650 and transform it into a street tracker (STR) built for daily use.
The man behind this custom build is Antti Eloheimo. The visionary designer and mechanic who runs Stoker Motorcycles from his garage in Helsinki. Eloheimo’s goal was to build a bike that was as comfortable on the streets as it was inspired by the world of flat-track racing. His design approach aimed to keep the SV650’s rugged character while making it more suitable for everyday riding.
Eloheimo’s modifications began with the fuel tank, which he lowered into the frame to help centralize the mass. This change not only improved the bike’s balance but also allowed for the installation of new flat-track bodywork. The fiberglass bodywork, which includes a streamlined tank and rear section, was shaped with clean lines and subtle details. Such as integrated air intakes and rear wind channels, making the bike look sleek and functional.

The racing-inspired seat, made from foam with a minimalist approach. Was designed for comfort during long rides important for a bike that would serve daily riding duties. Eloheimo wanted a bike that wouldn’t leave riders sore after a few miles. “The seat may look hard, but it’s actually quite comfortable to sit on maybe I’ve just gotten used to it after working on track-style bikes!” says Eloheimo.
Beneath the updated bodywork, Eloheimo made several performance and aesthetic enhancements to ensure the SV650 was both practical and striking. The side panels were replaced with aluminum, and a custom under-tail plate protected the rear cylinders of the engine. The subframe and electrical components were reworked to ensure a cleaner. More streamlined design, with additional custom details like 3D-printed side covers that added a touch of modern flair.
One of the more notable changes to the SV650’s performance came in the form of wheel modifications. While flat-track bikes traditionally feature 19-inch wheels, Eloheimo opted for 17-inch rims wrapped in supermoto tires to give the bike a more aggressive and agile stance for city riding. To complement these changes, the rear shock was sourced from a Kawasaki ZX-10R. Ensuring improved suspension performance for both the urban jungle and the occasional off-road adventure.
The front of the bike saw further refinements, including fork protectors and a set of Neken Jared Mees replica handlebars that contribute to the flat-track aesthetics. These features enhance both the bike’s look and handling, making it a stylish yet functional custom machine.
Despite its aggressive flat-track styling, Eloheimo made sure the custom SV650 retained its road-legal status. The bike was fitted with a Motogadget speedometer, integrated turn signals, and a single front headlamp all features that ensure the bike meets legal requirements while maintaining its minimalist look. The front plate, which houses the headlamp and number plate. Adds a finishing touch that ties together the bike’s functional design with its racing-inspired DNA.
Finally, Eloheimo chose a two-tone white and silver paint scheme to visually link the bike’s fiberglass bodywork to the classic tubular steel frame. This color choice not only enhances the bike’s aesthetics but also highlights the sharp lines and precision of the custom work, making the SV650 look as fast as it feels.
The 2000 Suzuki SV650, transformed into a street tracker by Stoker Motorcycles, is a perfect example of how a beloved motorcycle can be reimagined with the right blend of style, functionality, and performance. With its flat-track influences, modern upgrades, and comfort-oriented modifications, this custom SV650 is not only a striking tribute to racing heritage but also a practical, daily-use bike. Whether navigating city streets or simply enjoying a weekend ride, this street tracker proves that the iconic Suzuki SV650 still has plenty to offer, even more than two decades after its initial release.
